Out of Curiosity, I called around my middle TN area for prices and they wanted around 40 bucks per 50 lb bag.[IMG]

That's about 80 cents a pound. Holy Schmokes! If I were to grow out a bird to 8 weeks that would be about 14 dollars in feed cost alone per bird.

I think I'll just stick to feeding my broilers antibiotic-free feed for my customers.

Anyone else experience exorbitant organic prices in their area?

I used non-medicated Nutrena for my first bag but then I heard the local feed mill had organic. It was $27 a bag, but about a third of it was powder that the chicks of course won't even eat! Yikes...I don't really want to buy more if it's that much plus the waste.

You should be able to get chicks to eat powder if you dampen it into a mash for them.

Thanks Oregon Blues, I'll give that a try for this bag.
