This chick hatched this week and I think has a back/hip problem. It definately has problems with mobility and has problems getting arround.

Its difficult to photograph but here are some photos.

here it is eating with its sibling
i tried to get a good photo not that great
it just seems that the hips aren't oriented correctly.
here are the behinds of both chicks

    any thoughts anyone?

Poor lil guy. It almost looks like one leg is longer than the other. I can't think of thing you can do. I'm pretty sure it's a deformity and it's probably not in pain. It will probably always have a limp, but be fine otherwise. [IMG]

Poor little critter! I think that as long as he can get around without pain he should be ok. He'll just be a little bit "special."

I think this chick will learn to cope with the imbalance and be a fully functioning adult. I, too, doubt the chick is in any pain. He/she will get stronger as the muscles will develop to accommodate the (probable) skeletal asymmetry. Both babies are adorable!
