I got 3 hens from the sunnyside hatchery in Beaver Dam WI.
I personally did not get them, but the person I got them from got them from that hatchery.

Can any one tell me what they are a derivative of, or cross bred with to create them.

    Thanks
    Carol

Not the greatest pic, I will try to get a new one tonight.
The plumage around the head is very light tan or grey.

    Well talked to the hatchery...
They couldn't tell me what exact breeds went into making them.
They are a production hen, and the lady who was in the office wasn't sure.
But she thought the rooster's were red.
Soooo a very new type of sex link?

Black sex links are red breasted, not tan or grey.

Quote:Black Sex Links can be tan, gray, red, lavender, whatever breast coloration. What makes a black sex link is a barred hen and non-barred rooster. The coloration of the offspring is dependent on what other colors are in the parents.
