Hi! I'm new to raising chickens and I've learned so much on this awesome site! Thank you all for all the info.
I wanted to share something I figured out while raising my new flock here in hot Florida...my chicks LOVE kale, but I noticed that it wilts so fast when I put this treat out for them...I had put the kale in a bowl of water in my fridge to keep it fresh..it froze over night and I thought, what if I put the whole frozen kale outside in their feeding area? Well, they loved it!! They picked at the kale as it thawed and it kept them busy for an hour! I posted a picture and just wanted to share this in case others live in a hot climate!

Hi and thank you ! I got them from a farm 3 weeks ago. They are only 9 weeks old. They told me they were a cross between RI Reds and a Star Cockerel. (?) so I'm not quite sure. I'm watching their colors evolve as the weeks go on! I'm glad you liked my idea. Thanks!
