Speckled Sussex pullet or cockerel??

These 2 are named thing 1 and thing 2 (started Sussex 1 and Sussex 2 as we don’t like to name them right away. Anywho thing 1 is looking kinda like a cockerel. They are 11 almost 12 weeks old. Thing 1 is darker than thing 2 first 4 pics are thing 1. Last 4 pics thing 2.

Yep first 1 is cockerel, the face is obvious. Big red comb, & wattles.

I thought so too but thing 2 has large comb too...but saddle feathers coming in on both look the same....I’m stumped the hackles look the same too edited to add thing 2’s comb is actually larger

If you dig through the saddle feathers you should see sprouting pointed saddle feathers under those which will tell if it's male. I had to do this with my Sumatra.

I thought both looked like pullets so I guess I'll be following along to see how this turns out

If you dig through the saddle feathers you should see sprouting pointed saddle feathers under those which will tell if it's male. I had to do this with my Sumatra.

I also have a Sumatra first time lol but pretty sure she’s a she

They look more blunt then pointy. Time will tell.
