Speckled Sussex X Light Sussex (sex link?)

Hey, new to the forum. I have a group of Speckled Sussex and I was reading that you may be able to produce sex link offspring by using Light Sussex hens with a Speckled Sussex Roo. Is this true? There's a bunch of Light Sussex chicks available locally right now that I could raise up and keep the hens, then add one of my Speckled Sussex Roos to that group. In theory, all offspring from that group would offer sex-link.

To be clear, I would have two separate groups, a group of Speckled Sussex hens and roo, and a group of "Sex-link" Sussex with Speckled Roo and Light hens. Locals are hell bent on having sex link, so I figured if I can pull it off, they wouldn't have to buy commercially raised laying hens.

Thoughts?

Question: would the hens resulting from this look like a Speckled Sussex or an in-between coloration!? Thx
