speeding up molting.

    are there any possible ways to speed up the molting process?

    I would add more protein to their diet.The protein is needed to grow back their feathers.

    How do you give them more protein? Scrambled eggs?

    Scrambled eggs if you have them, otherwise black oil sunflower seeds added to their diet.

    Or meat. My little hen seems to be having an easier go with molting since she started getting a lot of fresh fish.

    uhm.. i read about 'calf manna' im not sure what is it but its a feed especially for calves and has 25% crude protein and 1 tbsp per hen per day can also help.. thanks for ur ideas. i'll try the scramble eggs. :)

    meal worms are a yummy protein treat. [​IMG]
    folks also recommend yogurt, but my girls turn up their pointy little beaks at it!
