You are looking at Speckles. He is a 5 month old Olive Egger cockerel. His parentage is Blue Isbar crossed with a Black Copper Marans.
He is a good boy and will tolerate being picked up when caught. The only reason we are re-homing him is because we cannot keep all of roosters. He is a great guardian of the pullets/hens and will protect them while free-ranging. He currently lives with two other roosters and tolerates them as there are pullets in the flock too. He was raised by hand by my husband and I from a day old chick and handled almost daily. Now that he's "all grown up" he doesn't like to be pet much, but you can pick him up and move him no problem.
He needs a good home where he can have his own flock of ladies. If you have chickens but no rooster, this is the rooster for you! He is fine around our German Shepherd and Yorkies and good with humans too.
Reply here and we can set things up via phone or text too. I'm asking $20 for him to cover feed cost, but to the right person/family I we would gladly donate him.
