Are Splash Silkies an APA accepted breed?
I just looked in my new expensive color version SOP ....
The silkies listed are:
They are accepted in the ABA standard of Perfection!
Yes they are accepted, look in the back of the APA book for the ad ins.

OK, Maxx, then add to my list .... Bearded Splash Silkie.
It doesn't have the Non-Bearded Splash listed though.
Ok, here we go.
We have Color and we have Variety.
Two different things.
Nonbeard Silkies are a variety and accepted.
Than you have White, Black, Blue, Splash, Gray, Buff, and Partridge for color.
These colors are accepted.
Everything else is a AOV.
Quote:So what is a Non-Bearded Splash Silkie?
There are 14 recognised varieties of silkies: bearded and non-bearded in white, black, blue, splash, partridge, grey & buff. Splash (both bearded and non-bearded) have been recognised for MANY years. (2000? 2001?)
