How do you tell if a chicken has a splinter? She was fine today completely but when I sat down to feed her she started "sweeping" her foot as if she wanted to get something off and later walked "marching style" with that leg. I examined the foot and couldn't see anything wrong with it. She's laying an egg now. Could she have a splinter?

If she's still limping I'd give her another exam. Could be a splinter I suppose. Maybe she removed it with sweeping motion??

She stopped doing it after she laid an egg... I don't know why. I'm glad, though. I'll examine her more closely tomorrow. Thanks for your help!
