I have a buff orpington that is 22 weeks. I noticed today she has a spot about the size of a dime under her right ear. It's featherless, gray, and feels squishy. She's eating and drinking. I do notice some head shaking, but it's minimal. I have 11 chickens in total. 6 Rhode Island reds, and 5 buff orpingtons. Could another chicken done this? She is definently not the top hen. One of my RIR is. The skin is not broken. Any ideas what this could be? What should I do?
I seriously don't have a clue. You could try searching it on here as well, just in the search bar, and see if you come up with anything. Maybe someone else has an idea but I have never seen that.
I noticed that I think it is her ear lobe. But it's only on one side. Shouldn't it be red? My other buffs have small red ones. She has nothing on her left side, but this gray, squishy spot on her right side.
