I have a 2.5 week old orpington chick that seems to have suddenly developed spraddle leg. Given the sudden nature of it, my thought was a vitamin deficiency. I have her isolated with another chick and am putting vitamins in their water. I put a splint between her legs just in case it's a muscular issue. She does a bit better with the splint, will sit mostly on her hocks. But when she moves she mostly just scoots backwards kinda frantically. Is this normal for spraddle leg? I've never had a chick with this issue before. Should I be doing something different? (Chick is eating and drinking ok when they are in close proximity to her and has no other issues, just wonky legs.) Thanks!
