My brother ended up with a day old chick that got pecked on by a rooster. Currently isolated from mom and other newly hatched chicks. She has some pecking wounds on her head, for which I suggested Vetericyn. The more concerning thing to me is her legs - she Is unable to stand up and seems to have Spraddle legs, which I’ve personally never dealt with. The legs do not seem to be sticking out sideways as much as photos online - Can anyone help confirm? Also, is the best treatment for this wrapping with vet wrap? Any supplements?

He is feeding her egg yolk with a syringe and water as well. Does anyone have dosage / amount he should shoot for? They didn’t give him chick feed, so he needs to get some.

Chick might just be weak rather than spraddle leg, so I’d give it some time to get stronger before treating for spraddle leg. I don’t feed uncooked egg yolk. Electrolytes would probably be better: is it not drinking on its own? If it just hatched, it needs to be kept warm more than anything else...
