I have a 4 week old houdan...Is it possible for them to start forming spurs at this age? I was worried it was a roo and he has these little bump looking things on the back of his eggs, Could it be spurs starting to form?

Spurs do not equal roo. Almost all (if not all) chicks have spur bumps. I've had hens with 2 1/2 inch long wicked sharp spurs. So, don't start worrying yet. [IMG]

All chickens (hens and roosters) have a spur bud. If you look at a full grown hen's leg, you will see the spur bud there. However, only the rooster's spur buds will develop into a spur.
