Square Footage for Bantams

Discussion in 'Coop & Run - Design, Construction, & Maintenance' started by Superior Chicks, Jan 14, 2009.

  1. I know what the requirements are for standards, but is it different for Bantams?

If so, what is the square footage requirement for each bird? Or, how many Bantams in a 6x4 coop, where birds will spend a good deal of time in their coop in a harsh winter climate?

2 sq. ft. is enough for bantams. In a 6x4 coop in a harsh winter I wouldnt go with more than 10. [IMG]

    Edited for spelling.

The Chicken Health Handbook recommends 5 sq foot per bantam if they are to be confined.
