What is the rule of thumb for amount of square feet per bird in coop and run.
4 sq feet for coop
10 sq feet for run
I do not practice what I preach
32 square feet coop foot print (3 levels)
256 square feet run
13 birds as a rule
Now down to 7.
4 sq ft per bird coop and 10 sq ft per bird run, bare minimum.
Crowding causes problems.
My breeder coops get about 7 sq ft inside and 30-60 outside and my free range birds get 2.5 inside and 35 acres outside. A good rule of thumb is 4 inside and 10 outside.
