How come two off hens squat down and expand their wings a little bit when I pick them up? I've never seen it before !

Squatting in a hen is a sign of submission. Sometimes they will do it for their owners, and sometimes they will do it for the rooster in the flock.

A hen squatting is also a sign that your girls are maturing, and if they are not already doing so, that they will begin egg laying in the near future.

How old are your girls? Are they approaching laying age?

Unfortunately I don't know how old a few of them are she's probably close to a year I remeber the guy said they were his last ones he got and her comb is full grown too. I don't know if she lays I have 5 out of 9 that lay so it's hard to tell. I've been thinking about putting my trail cam in there to try and find out haha.
