Squatting girls - video clip

I have seen quite a few posts asking what it looks like when a chicken squats. Here are a couple of clips of my girls doing 'the squat'.

Mine does that when I go to pet her or pick her up ... I just assumed it was a submissive thing.

I have six pullets that are 12 weeks old now and two of them do that when I pet them but the other four won't let me pet them unless I grab them when they aren't watching for me. lol

Actually, the Rhodie (Chico) was very skittish and would not let me pick her up. Now that she has started squatting she sits with me and lets me pick her up. Very cute.
