OK this is a 16 week old Black Standard Cochin Cockerel. I would like to know the Pros. and Cons of this bird and I would like to know if he is worth holding on to and breeding/ showing next year.. I know that he has a lot of growing/ filling out to do..
Thanks
Chris

Alrighty, He's got quite a bit of growing to do, but right now I'm not too fond of his rear. His feathering back there reminds me of a production bird, but it could just be age.

rodriguez;
Thanks.. The tail should be more rounded and more fuller like a ball... Right?

Chris

Yes, more "cushion" and not so much "hard" feathering. You shouldn't be able to see the main tail feathers and even if you can see them, the main tail feathers are soft as well, not hard like on a Langshan.

Ill have to check tomorrow and see if his tail is fully in or if he has some more filling out to do in the tail..
Thanks again rodriguez.
