Can chicks actually result from this combination? I have a White Leghorn setting (Day 14) on a variety of eggs, 2 of which are from our banty hen, Dixie. I wasn't expecting them to be fertile but at the last two candlings they are growing and moving around great in the eggs. I am pretty sure the daddy is our standard RIR rooster, Strut, since he is the only one that does the baby dance with her. We have a young banty rooster named Pete, but he hasn't been too interested in the fathering duties as of yet.

So can there really be chicks from a Standard and Banty mix?

Only Peanut made it...7 1/2 weeks old now.. and getting big. Still not as large as the standard eggs that hatched but larger than the usual banty.

I have a bantam rooster who mates with my standard girls and hatched an egg from one of them.
