This is my first attempt at incubating eggs. This fella is only 3 days in. Is it the start of a blood ring? I see clear vein development, but wasn't sure...[IMG]

No, that's perfect! That's just the outer ring of the blood vessels trying to spread over the whole egg. Totally normal and a good sign :)

Where did you get fertile eggs at the store?

Really seems to depend on where you live. Every grocery where I am has them (Trader Joe's to Safeway).

Trader Joe's, Barons (Sprouts), and Organic Roots is where I've bought mine. I'm in SoCal so they're pretty easy to find.

Oooo surprise chicks. That'll be lots of fun to watch them hatch and see what you get! [IMG] Good luck with your hatch. I hope you get lots of adorable fluffballs.
