Hi all, I am a new member. I know this site will help me greatly. I have been reading on several chicken forums. It seems like many chickens get ill, diseases, injuries, pests, etc. I am now starting to worry for the health of my chickens and I haven't even gotten them yet. Can you tell me what basic first aid kit items I could gather so if something common happens, I may be ready to help or heal? Thx.

You're wise to be thinking about this. BYC has threads discussing lists of items to keep on hand to address emergency issues with chickens, and here's The Chicken Chick's list. https://the-chicken-chick.com/chicken-first-aid-kit-sick-bay-be/

Some of us also keep a few different antibiotics on hand to treat sudden illness when saving a chicken may mean getting started on an antibiotic immediately. I buy mine here. https://pet-healthcare.revivalanimal.com/search?p=Q&ts=custom&w=fish antibiotics

If you plan to start your flock with baby chicks, you will want to have Poultry Nutri-drench on hand to give them to counter shipping stress or in case a chick is showing signs of weakness. You can buy it at most feed stores.
