I can't find Quail Starter Feed anywhere. I have looked online and visited different shops.

Would Starter Feed designed for Partridges be a good substitute? Must be better than using Starter Feed made for Chickens?

Yes, any game bird starter should work well.

Make sure to check the protein % and the actual size of the feed pieces, might need to break them up smaller.

That 28% or 30% should do the trick. Chicks will need the crumbs smashed or blended smaller until they're at least a few days old—it should all be water soluble anyway, but I find it helps them learn their feed from their bedding easier.

What feed stores have you checked? Purina Gamebird and Turkey Startena seems to have the best results with the quail raisers I have spoken to. But any Gamebird/Turkey starter should work, and yes partridge's are gamebirds.

28 to 30 percent protein is best, with 24 percent being about the minimum I would use.

I fed my quail chicks heygates game starter. I had to use my wife's nutri bullet to make it finer though!
