    Hey Mathew I'm in Va too. I'm seriously thinking about trying to raise meat birds this year as well so we're in the same boat.

    No coop is needed. Use a Salatin style chicken tractor, then read Pastured Poultry Profits . Best book on raising meat chickens I have yet seen, whether you plan to make profits or not/
