In the Brooder
I got 8 new day-old (ish) chicks from my local feed store about 1.5 weeks ago. Breeds are: Australorp, barred rock, black sex link, Rhode island red, easter egger, golden comet, Delaware, and silver laced wyandotte.
So far the are all doing well. I'm working on socializing them. So far 3 of them will run over when I put my hand on the brooder. 3 others are interested, but not thrilled, and the last 2 aren't really social at all. They are in a brooder (made of wire cubing shelving) in the basement. I'm renovating the existing coop in our yard at the moment... If it ever stops snowing here in SE PA.
I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this or not, so I apologize if it's in the wrong thread. I'd like to get a rooster. I'm going to wait until sure all of my pullets are actually girls of course. But does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get a single rooster?
