I was wondering if Stevia (homegrown not store bought) is safe for chickens? I have some dried leaves that I wanted to add to my hens nest box herbs but I wanted to know if it was safe first.

Also I grow my own nest box herbs such as lavender, mint, rosemary, sage, thyme, and lemon balm, Is there any other herbs that would be great for this purpose.

Thanks

From what I have read, there is no reason why stevia could not be put in the nests. As you may have learned from adding herbs to the nests, chickens won't eat everything. It appears that they ignore strong herbs, such as: rosemary and sage.

Thanks!

I wonder if it has some of the same health benefits for chickens as it does for us

I mainly put herbs in the nest boxes for a natural bug control but it would be nice to include some just for health reasons as well.
