So, I set 9 duck eggs 33 days ago... 4 have hatched (day 28-30) but I not have two I believe are sticky chicks... one definitely is. I saw they had pipped internally so I made a safety hole, they've opened up a bit and then I've had to help them since I noticed no progress for days. The two seem to still be absorbed their yolk/bloody veins (lots of yawning and chewing motions)... is there anything I can do to ensure they don't cement and have a chance at survival?
Pictures attached...

The second egg is far worse and sticky then the one I managed to free. Every time I touch it the veins bleed. I'm terrified to open it up but I guess I either try or it dies if I don't free the head more?
Leave it be. If you see blood it is no where near ready to hatch.

It's a mix breed (pekin, saxony, cayuga Swedish Blue.. one of those combos)
I think the humidity was too high, this incubator doesn't have a gauge and my meter was reading 75% but I don't think it's accurate
Don't set eggs again until you get another thermometer to calibrate too.

Get another humidity gauge before you set eggs again.
There is no doubt your humidity was too high.
Please don't wash anymore unhatched babies

Leave them be and give them time. Don't be in a rush.

It's in the perfect position now to push out when it's ready, you did a great job! :thumbsup
Do you have a picture of the other 4 that already hatched? I'd love to see them!
Thank you!! I got the second one out, she was much more cemented so I did the same thing and unglued her head.

I'd love to show you :) Pictures of all attached!!

You might want to think about moving the waterer and the feed bowl away from the edges so they have room to walk all the way around
They're normally not so close but as you can see the water needed changing so I moved them for the picture. I try to keep them close to the wall though otherwise these guys swim all day

So cute! :love
You'll probably need a separate brooder for the chicks so they don't get chilled by being wet and die. I call my ducks my "little piggies " :gig
The second chick is now out of her shell (on her own). I lightly qtipped the goop off of her so she hopefully fluffs up but I noticed her belly is a little swollen, hoping that's just the absorbed yolk and not something more serious. 🤞
We have set up a separate brooder for the chicks. We had 1 hatch a couple days ago and didn't think any of the others would hatch but we were surprised this morning when another one did!
Mama hen first time broody attacked the little one when she started to make her appearance so we brought all the eggs in and put them in the incubator... not sure what'll happen but I'm glad she has a friend now :)

Little piggies sounds about right! Lol I'm totally obsessed with my flock and can't get enough of the babies!
