This may be the wrong section for this question, but here goes... My 8 month old EE lays beautiful green eggs but they are sticky for up to 48 hours after she lays them. Straw or shavings in the nestboxes sticks to the eggs like they've been superglued. Some days the eggs are stickier than others, every few days she will lay a perfect egg without the sticky coating. The shells are normal strength and they have free choice at the oyster shells, so I don't think it is a calcium deficiency. Plus the other hens' eggs are perfectly normal, so it shouldn't be diet or nutrition related. I am clueless. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
