Still air incubator/dry incubation question

We have a still air incubator-that has been horrible to use. I plan on trying a "dry incubation", to see if it helps our hatch rates at all-but..what temperature should I use? The article in BYC for dry incubation, said for still air to use 101, but the instructions for the bator said 99.5. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Well what are your egg symptoms? Do they make it to lockdown then quit? Do they not develop at all? Do you have an egg turner? What's your humidity?
My sister incubates in a still air hovabator. I believe she runs 101-102° she also hand turns them. She gets good hatches out of it to... so there is hope for you!

We have a turner and the temp is consistent at 99.5...I think the humidity was the trouble. All the eggs have been fertile and developed, but it seems by halfway-they stop. We only check at day 7 then day 17 before lockdown.

Yeah try the dry method. I tried it once in my LGs and had the best hatch rates I could get in them doing it. I think keeping you humidity at 60% in lockdown is important...
I run 38-45% in incubation and 60% in lockdown and it seems to work for me here.

I am going to try that to. I have had 7 eggs due and I have been running at 97 to 99, it seems that if I get passed 99 it jumps to 108. Mine have all made it to lockdown but only 2 out of 7 have hatched. I raised the humility to 80 or 95 percent like I read but it isn't helping none.

Ok I don't understand the difference between dry incubation and still air incubation? Can anyone help me out?
