Still not sure what these are.....Photos

    These are from the Cackle Hatchery Surprise. I now know I have 2 male red sex link, 3 male barred rock, 5 silver laced cochin, 2 partridge cochin, 2 australorp, and 6 of these.......

    What are they? The red/brown/black chicks?

    I know the ones with a lot of white are my sex links, It's the other red/brown with black feathers trying to figure out...

    They are all about a month old.oh, they looked like this at about a week old...

    Yep, they look like RIR or production reds.

    That would be good, I need some more eating egg layers. Hopefully they are some version of that....

    I was hoping they were speckled sussex. I like speckled birds.

    They could be NHRs too [​IMG] either way they will lay! Were they sexed pullets?

    That's what my RIR reds from an "assortment" of reds were like both in the beginning and the older photo. Hatchery RIR still lay well. I was gonna say the SLW and the barred rocks are cute too [​IMG]

    I thought I wouldn't like the RIR's they were gotten only to help break a broody - but darn if one of the little suckers doesn't have a neat personality.
