Someone (?) or Someones has started laying this week. For the first two days I had a soft shelled egg they were both broke and found under roost poles. I suspect a PBR was the culprit then. Yesterday afternoon I discovered an on the step to the coop appeared to have just a membrane. This morning in a little depression in the litter another membrane egg!!

They have been on Layer feed for about 2 weeks and oyster shells are in a small bowl. Fed lots of greens and veggies, I just can't figure this out??

Is this normal? Do you all think maybe I have several hens all starting at the same time they are all about the same age? (20 something weeks)

What can I do to rectify the situation?

Young hens often lay soft eggs for a few days (or even a bit longer) before they start to lay ones with proper shells. Grate some cuttlefish bone in their food and give them bread and vitaminised margarine for a few days as well to correct any vitamin D deficiency. They will almost certainly start to lay eggs with proper shells soon,
