STILL trying to see which of my chick order is dark brahma

I am beginning to think NONE which is sad because they did not own up to NOT sending the main bird I wanted.

The boys with the single comb I was told yesterday are marans. So I decided to just take pics of ALL the dark chicks that I have. I am assuming "dark" brahma would be a dark chick.

Have I been duped yaw'll and sent ALL marans and NO brahmas????

Brahmas have pea combs, so that should help.

Also, here are a few pics of dark Brahmas from hatcheries:

Does this look like any of them? You can see they have a chipmunk pattern, but there's a lot of variability as to how dark they are. All 3 pics show lighter underbellies, too. And Brahmas are feather-legged.

I have one last thing up my sleeve. I am thinking of writing Hoover with something like:

"Can you help me identify the breed of my chicks. I ordered maran, welsummer, dixie rainbow and brahmas to fill out the order when all I really wanted are brahmas. Is it possible that of all 20 of my chicks NO brahmas were sent? Also, what is the possibility that no brahmas were available and I was not told. These are the darkest of all my chicks.

Please advise and I thank you in advance."

I can't see the combs on some of the of the feathered leg chicks. Brahmas have pea combs and feathered feet.

I have to ask, not doubting you but the interpretation of the order by the hatchery. Did you order specific numbers of each of those chicks or get assorted or surprise chicks and just drop a message saying “hey it would be cool if y’all sent some of these and those?”

Only 3 and get this; one was yellow and the other two were identified as Marans (thus my confusion now).

Did they send a paper with your order? It would probably have been tucked in the top or side of the box they came in. Wondering if they subbed and wrote it there. You did get 20 chicks delivered, correct, and lost 3, so there should be 17?
