Stinky poo

My new Speckled Sussex and Easter 3 month old pullets have smelly poop. They insist on eating the big girls scratch and feed as well as the baby feed. Why do they smell so awful!!? It is healthy in consistency cor etc but ewww smelly !!

In my experience, the odor is usually affected by what they're eating - if your existing flock's poop smells normal to you and, as you said, the new pullets don't have any signs of something amiss, it may be due to what they were fed in their previous home and will work its way out of their systems. The stress of moving to a new home and flock may also have an influence.

I once fed my flock some breaded fish fillets - they gobbled them up but the aftereffects were not good. That was the worst-smelling poop I've encountered.
