I have a Jersey Giant who lays the TALLEST eggs I've ever seen. When I put them in an egg carton, I can't shut it! Because they dont' fit in in the carton, I usually don't sell them but eat them myself. And I've found that the white is extremely runny -- fills almost the whole pan, even when fresh.

What does the size of the egg have to do with the quality of the white? Any idea about what's going on?

I don't know the answer to this but I am really interested to find out what the answer is

When pullets lay eggs , or the first couple of each laying cycle, they are usually long and thinner, sometimes with a twirly/spirally-looking top to them.

They SHOULD (every chicken gives birth different and develops different...like womens labors, the kid comes out, just a little differently each time) get a little wider over time...maybe you just have an interesting egg to blow out for an Easter decoration!
