My son in law brought a stray chicken to me. Anybody know what she may be? I will try to get better pics tomorrow.

She's a mix--those feathered legs show one feathered leg parent. Looking at her, I was thinking one of the leghorn based hybrid layers--there are so many of them I don't keep up with the brand names. She looks to have white earlobes, so maybe a white egg layer once she starts. She also looks a little gamey, but that could just be leghorn blood and the pics that don't show her body type well.

Does she have 5 toes? With the turquoise lobes, dark skin, feathered legs she may have some silkie a few generations back. Otherwise, just a pretty mixed breed hen. Probably a mix of mixes, a classic Barnyard Mix.

Yes she does have 5 toes. A couple are missing probably from frost bite. She was left in a ditch.Could not let her try to make it through the winter all alone.
