I'm afraid I don't have much info yet. The social worker at school just approached me saying a stray chicken has been hanging out in his yard for a couple of weeks. He knows nothing about chickens and has no idea where this one came from. He heard that I have chickens so he came to me asking if I wanted it. He says it's dark and very tame. It's been eating spilled bird seed under a feeder and it's very tame. I'd be happy to take it from him but with our new coop unfinished and all my dog crates in use for my several batches of new chicks I don't really have anyway to isolate it for a while to make sure it's healthy. About the only thing I could do would be to keep it in my garden shed and that's not ideal for me or the chicken. We (me, the social worked and the chicken) are all in eastern Ct. Anyone out there want more info and to help? I'll post more when I get the info from him. Thanks!
