I have only 6 turkeys right now (looking to expand) of a few breeds. Until recently, we though we had 2 males and 4 females. For the past few weeks, every time I look at our Blue Slate tom, he's on display and gobbling. The other known male is also Blue Slate, and although he never puffs up or displays, he's got a long snood.
This morning when we let everyone outside, the normal tom was puffed up, and 2 of what we though were hens were also showing off. 1 is a Spanish Black, and 1 is a Small White. They are considerably smaller than the BS tom, and barely have snoods to speak off. Is this some confused hen behavior?
