This is Bambi, a cochin cross/backyard mutt. She is almost 6 weeks old (6/10). She is TINY. She is the pictures next to 1 week old barred hollands.... they are the same size. She also is not feathering out . She was in a brooder with 2 lavender orpingtons, both of whom tower over her. They eat a certified organic/ non-gmo starter/ grower from tractor supply. She is eating and drinking. The last picture is of her sibling born the day before her for a comparison. It seems like her nose openings are really small too. Thoughts? Bambi is SUPER sweet, in your pocket sort of a girl n.

Which ones Bambi?
First picture, top left. Second picture, right. The bottom picture is of her sister Chip who is 1 day older.

Her poo is normal but I will feed her dewormer today just in case. Her mother "Brownie Alice" is tiny but not this tiny! No signs of worms or parasites. The 2 orpington chicks she was with are HUGE and healthy. We did just trim/file her beak as the top was overgrown but she was still eating.

Time will tell what she turns out to be. I'm not a genetics expert, but if she is a cross then she could be a bantam. Comparing her to large fowl in this situation won't work:)

Watch to see that she is eating her chick starter. If she is active and gaining weight, then enjoy your sweet cutie pie.

So she is a bantam.
Orpington tend to be larger plus any standered is bigger then a bantam.
Yes, I apologize I thought I mentioned she was a bantam (both mom & dad). This is her mom Brownie on the left. Bambi is in the front and Chip her sibling on the right. Chip is 1 day older and has the same mom & choice of dads. That's why I was so concerned because Chip is so much bigger and feathered out than she is. I know the orpingtons are bigger....monsters compared to her, lol. I'll just keep watching her.
