Stupid Fox!!!!!!

I'm so mad and sad... I lost 5 babies today by fox attack

Animal control guy came over and said "you got chickens, you got fox. it's your problem"
He told me to buy animal trap and set it up. Then SHOOT IT if I would like....

Fox are "Very Hard" to catch with a live trap. You need some #1.75 spring coil traps and KNOW how to use them. There is a lot of info on-line about trapping or maybe someone in your area traps. For trapping supplies I use http://www.nwtrappers.com/. Good luck! Hope you get him.

I just talked to 2 "professional wild animal removers".
They said they use box traps, not open spring/coil traps and cost like crazy....
Then told me that "don't try yourself because it makes harder to catch them".
So either forget it about catching them or pay big money to get them....

Oh I wish money comes out from my ears!!!!

coil spring are much quicker to catch them with and a number 1 1/2 is plenty large for them, if you are going to try cage traps bigger is better google drift fencing the first coupla links show how

Unfortunately, the fox was not stupid in the least.

I gather your birds free range and this was not a breach of your run or coop? Keep your birds in lockdown for awhile so you don't have a repeat incident.
