Such thing as a silkied jap??

    Does anyone know if there is such thing as a silkied Japanese?? I have a friend that thinks he might have a Jap that carries a silkie gene. Any info??

    the trait for silkied feathers can be bred into any breed. there are cochin bantams who are silkie feathered. used to have a red one. silkie is just like frizzle, you can get it into any breed. but breeding it to be a correct representation of the breed with the additional feather modification is much different then just making a cross an calling it a frizzled so-n-so.
