Suet cakes for chickens

Does anyone know if we can feed wild bird suet cakes to chickens as an occasional treat?

I do. I have had no problem other then the wild birds that come to pick now and again.

Mine wouldn't eat them at all, I thought it was rather strange. They stayed in the treat bowls for several days until I threw them out.
