If I gave my chickens left-over oatmeal that had been sweetened with brown sugar, would that be a bad thing?

I hope its ok. I usually give my chicks a little sugar water if they arrive after a bad trip from the hatchery.

If it's just an occasional thing, I think it's fine.
I do try to avoid giving them much of anything that's had alot of butter/margarine, sugar or salt added to it.
It's not good for us, why should it be okay for chickens?

On cold nights my girls get a bowl of warm grits and milk with just a little sugar and cinnamon.
If I forget the sugar and cinnamon they get sassy-BA-Gaaawk....

I have a dog that LOVES marshmellows but one day while I accidentally dropped a handful here came the chickens. I was totally over run by them so I pitched a few and man oh man.[IMG] Now everytime I come out the door with a bag they are waiting. Little buggers love mini marshmellows. I use it as a once in a blue moon treat. I've taught my dog to sit and lay down using them. HUMMM Wonder if I could get the chickens to sit???[IMG]
