Summer eggs

    is it ok for my chickens to sit on fertilized eggs and have them hatch chicks in the summer months...or is it too hot for them.

    If you are lucky enough to have a broody hen, and also want her to raise a brood then you should be in seventh heaven.... this is truly the time of year to have her raise some babys!

    A nice cool place with feed and water close to the nest is key for mom to get er done.

    The cost of new chicks from hatcheries, makes this a win situation for you, if growing the flock size is what you need and want.

    Thanks. I'm looking forward to new ones to add to the funny farm!

    We have Llamas and cows, geese and chickens. Dogs, cockatiels & 1 turtle dove. We baled yesterday. It's all done! yippeee! [​IMG]
