i went out to look at eggs because of some very loud ladies after about an hour i looked in the usual despens area and tada!.. the rooster was nice and cumpfy in there. i did get a very nice size egg in one box they first started to lay in. but cant imagine why he was in there.

They do this sometimes. Maybe they are trying to protect the eggs, maybe they think they are showing the other hens this is a good place to lay, maybe they just like the cozy, padded space -- who knows what goes on in those little chicken brains?!

lol really.. he runs in when my girls are sqwaking and is the loudest of them... i told hubby hes the acting mid wife and from the sound of it he was pretty busy.
