I got a Jersey Giant chick from Meyer Hatchery this spring. Methinks "she", Jemima, is a "he". I have never had this breed before, and I know they get huge, but I have a sneaking suspicion this is a roo. [IMG] Please tell me I'm wrong, 'cause I really wanted a hen [IMG]

Edited to add this chick was hatched April 11, and it is HUGE!!! Almost as big as my 4 yr old hens already [IMG]

The top feathers on the tail are starting to curve down, I think "It's a boy!"

Sorry, but it's a rooster. I agree with birdaholic on the tail feathers.

Now that we're sure he's a roo, does anybody have a Jersey Giant pullet for sale or trade?

I have a BJG that hatched April 12. Here is a picture of her at 10 weeks and she has absolutely no waddle or comb. She also have petite legs and feet. We call her Mini because she is so small! Looks like you have a big boy!
