Hello all,
We are first time chicken keepers. We have 5 chickens we got from chicks (2 speckled Sussex, 2 Rhode Island Blues and a red laced blue Wyandotte). My hubs and I are pretty confident on the sex of all except 1. From what I’ve read the Rhode Island Blues are a relatively new breed so there’s not a lot of info.. but I thought I’d see what you all think! The only reason I really think she’s a roo is because she has a larger comb and wattle than her sister of the same age (15 weeks) and breed.

Picture 1 and 2 are the suspicious chicken
Pictures 3 and 4 are her sister of the same breed and age.

Thank you everyone! Roo’s aren’t allowed where we live so I wanted to be sure.

They’re so sweet! This is our first flock, I had no idea chickens could be so outgoing and friendly. One of the speckled Sussex follows me around all day haha

Are these the same as production blues? I have 5 and they are so friendly.

Omg! Those are so beautiful!! The blue body with the red neck/head is amazing.
I’m actually not sure if they’re the same to be honest 🤔 I’m pretty new to the chicken scene haha All I know is they are called “Rhode island Blues”, mix of Rhode Island reds and the black austrolorp!
