Sussex who just stopped laying....all sorted - thanks for your help sorry for my slowness :)

my sussex has been laying for a month now but she only lays irregularly. She hasn't laid an egg for 4 days now but is still going to the nest as though she has to. She will sit on it for an hour or 2 in the morning and then again in the evening. She doesn't appear to be in any discomfort but I am concerned for her. Most of the eggs she has laid in the passed have been double yolks and some of them have been really very large - 84g...... Should I be worried for her?

I just checked on her and she is still on the nest - she has been there for about 5 hours now!!!!

Is she broody? A five hour stretch on the nest suggests to me that she is broody.

I just came to that conclusion myself - talk about being a little slow I just thought that because she was so young - only about 6 months - that she wouldnt be interested in being a mum just yet but she sure proved me wrong.
