One thing chickens have taught me is what might be flying high overhead. I've observed when they spot something in the air, and on a couple of occasions I've been able to grab my binoculars and see the bird of prey high overhead. I went through this list courtesy of Idaho Fish and Game http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/public/wildlife/nongame/leafletBirdsPrey.pdf. I thought for sure that the bird I seen eye-balling my chickens was an Osprey, but then I read on and learned that they eat only live fish. Anyone know anything about the common birds of prey we might see overhead in the SW Idaho area this time of year? Please share.
