Sweet Silkie

I have a 9th month old white silkie bantam pullet and she used to be soooo scared of me. She would always shake when I picked her up. Now, she runs up to me when she wants me to put her into an old dog cage to lay her egg of the day and sit for a while. She makes little cooing noises once in a while and I coo back at her. Why do these little tiny silkies coo like that? It's like she will "chicken talk" with me back and forth.

That often happens with chickens once they mature a bit they become friendly and talkative, especially around the start of laying, sounds like she likes to discuss things with you, she is actually probably making sounds in order to keep track of your whereabouts and considers you part of the flock.
