I got this egg and the egg yolk was swirled! I didn't end up eating it.
Smaller than usual, and darker than usual for the layer. I believe this one was from my speckled sussex.
Any ideas?
No rooster. She has been laying for a few months now. She is a hatchery bird.
We are in Ohio and have had a few of our warmer winter days.
My thoughts: crazy genetic material?? Obviously not an egg compatible with life?
